As I found a spot to record this one, I watched !!!'s set, which was very short.  I'm not really into their music, but they are unique in a way, and full of energy.  The crowd was loving them.  As soon as they finished, most of the existing crowd cleared out of this tiny venue and a new audience entered.  The sun was facing the stage, and the backs of the audience.  I know Bruce's music fairly well, but I had never seen him live, other than some Grateful Dead footage.  Quite a set for just him and a couple of dulcimers.  I saw another taper set up and as soon as Bruce started, within 30 seconds, they tore down.  

Bruce mentions himself that its going to be, "...hard to compete with all this sound..." but after a bit of feedback, the PA was put to a semi-decent level, drowning out as much of the surrounding noise as possible.  He had an electric fan pointed at him and a rainbow panel umbrella shading him, which he comments on.  I can see myself in the pictures of the crowd posted on bonnaroo.com.  Bruce did a tease of the Mumford & Sons song Little Lion Man.  This got a good reaction from some crowd members.  After the show, Bruce was signing autographs, "One item per person - no pictures."  People were taking pictures anyway.  I had brought my Hot House cassette j-card and got Bruce to sign that.  My tape was still running, he explains the cover, and to put it in short, it represents, "Bruce's dream..."  Neat character he is, very friendly and approachable.  He had his twin sons there with him, one was in the crowd, one sat on the side of the stage during the set.  His sons were also offering their signatures, but few people had items that they were a part of.

During the "Walkin Music" the beat is so funky that Bruce gets caught up and plays with the band a 
little bit before actually leaves the piano...great stuff

Who Knows jam is derived from the devastatingly groovy riff by Jimi Hendrix and the Band of Gypsys...
I imagine you would have to know this already as fans of good music, but I figured I'd add it as a sidenote just in case

Sonny Emory was unable to attend for this show...Moyes Lucas filled in on short notice...he fit right 
in like he never left, I wouldn't have known he wasn't a regular...

I met the band after the show, and although Bruce was tired, he was kind enough to talk to us and sign stuff outside the bus...this was supposed to be the last show of the tour, so he's obviously in need of rest, but they had a make up date in Pittsburgh from a Sept show cancelled due to the hurricanes...even still he was gracious and kind...his memory is amazing too!!! a woman claimed to have first seen him during a soundcheck at some place I don't remember, back when he was with GD, and he immediately said no, I never played there with them...over 100 shows and he knows where he was and when...said it must have been TOO or something...she insisted it couldn't be, because she was a fan ever since, and it was before 98...who knows? I figured that maybe Bruce was opening with the Range or something, and that's what she's thinking of...just blew me away that Bruce wouldn't just smile and nod and shake her hand and sign her shit...truly a classy guy with a helluva memory...I hope he writes a memoir someday, it would be a bazillion pages long!!!! LOL

ADDITIONAL NOTES: I tried to add my source to etree, and although I added the show, it didn't take the source and give me an id so if someone wants to add that, please do...also, the notes are sllightly incorrect, it was recorded with a zoom h2, not an h4...great show, great sound despite internal mics and poor location...great venue and respectful crowd made for a fine recording IMHO
