WELCOME TO MY NEW TRADING LIST!

About Me: I have been collecting bootlegs/ROIO's for twenty years now. My first tapes were of a Bruce Springsteen FM broadcast (Cleveland Agora 1978), obtained in mid-1986. Since then, I have amassed a collection of over 2,200 audio and 300 video recordings. Over the past two or three years, I have obtained most of my new shows through FTP, Newsgroup, and BitTorrent downloads rather than traditional snail mail trades.

In April 2006, I relocated from the United States to southern Thailand. Unfortunately, I was not able to bring my audio/video collections and they remain in storage on the other side of the world. I've begun a new collection here so that I can listen to something while laying on the beach or driving through the jungle. The first additions to this list have been obtained through BT downloads; however, I have a VERY slow dial-up connection here and would like to resume some tradional trades or B&P's.

TRADING RULES:
  • RATINGS -- I believe that show & sound quality ratings are entirely subjective and the end-user should be the one to determine if they like a show or if it sounds good to their own ears. An audience recording will always sound different than a soundboard or FM-sourced recording (that difference is not always better or worse!). However, I will add an "A", "B", etc. to act as a guide for choosing one show over another. The lack of a rating simply means that I haven't yet listened to a particular show.
  • LOSSLESS -- I prefer trading for SHN or FLAC data discs (particularly when they contain info text-files, checksums, and artwork as originally compiled or downloaded). My list mentions if the shows are available in these lossless formats and I will send as such unless you specifically request audio discs.
  • BLANKS -- TDK are the only "quality" blanks I can easily find here in Thailand and these are what I'll send in my trades. Please use a similar brand (Sony's, Fuji's, etc.) with the shows you send me (NO cheapo store brands, please).
  • AUDIO -- Please use Exact Audio Copy (EAC) to rip your audio discs to your hard drive and burn using Disc-At-Once (DAO, no gaps). Please, NO MP3-sourced shows.
  • B&P's -- I am always willing to provide shows from my list for Blanks & Postage (B&P). Since I now live in Thailand, we would have to use International Reply Coupons (IRC) which you can exchange at post offices throughout the world for local postage.
  • PACKAGING -- Please package the discs you send in trade securely (small white disc envelopes are better than jewel cases as they don't break and weigh less). Other than that, all I ask is that you enclose a slip of paper with artist and date (or a Post-It note; please do not write on the discs themselves). No need to include the setlist (I can find this on etree or elsewhere) or artwork unless it's already included in your SHN/FLAC files.
  • SHIPPING -- Please note that there has been reports of mail theft in Thailand. Packages sent to Westerners that look like they contain something "valuable" occasionally "disappear" from mail trucks between Bangkok and southern Thailand (where I am). Sending mail by Registered or Global Priority/EMS eliminates this problem as these have to be accounted-for and signed each step of the route. To offset this increased shipping cost, I am more than willing to provide an extra show or additional blank media. Please e-mail me.
LET'S TRADE!
