(8/20/02) If something is on my list it is worth having. it either sounds great, is the best copy available, or just plain hard to find. i don't post the crap i get from some of the users of this great site (sorry to some of you). Here's a guidline for a smooth trade for both of us: My Trading Specs- for both our benefit, I play by some standard rules. Feel free to add your own amendments. 1- All discs must be from a DAT or SHN master (no discs from mp3>WAV, analog, or some other medium). I will trade for SHN discs 2- Burn discs using Disc at Once (D.A.O., this feature provides for no annoying gaps between tracks). Do not ever send Track at Once (T.A.O.) discs, they are useless. 3- Tell me what brand of discs you are going to use and what brands you can?t have, if any. I'm currently using Sony CRM80's and Fuji's. 4- Don?t send jewel cases. Do use a bubble mailer. ( I send in little plastic CD sleeves and use a bubble mailer, please do the same.) 5- Give me a damage report- are there any glitches with the discs? (cuts, pops, static, low levels, other anomalies?) Let me know of these things before we burn discs. 6- What is the source of your discs? (if possible give mic info, etc.) 7- How do you think they sound? (ask yourself ?would I want these discs again, do they sound that good or are we wasting our time?? Just because they?re on a CD doesn?t mean they sound good. oh god do they not always sound good.) 8- Out in a week- It's not a big deal, but if you can?t get the discs out in less than a week let me know. 9- Actually send the discs. 10- If I fuck anything up, don?t hesitate to let me know about it. 11- Don't write on the discs 12- Don't lie to me. 13- Tell me if you don't understand any of these things BEFORE we trade. (I don't mind clarifying.)
