With no time to make it onto the floor at that point I recorded the Arkells from my seat and then made my way onto the floor for the HipÕs set. Once on the floor I ran into another taper that I had met once before in Hamilton at a free Big Sugar show at Gage Park and he kindly allowed me to attach my mics to his stand. Unfortunately, neither of us had the correct cable that would have allowed me to patch out of his AKGÕs, but I am certainly glad I was able to utilize his stand, since during the HipÕs set I looked up to where my seat was and it looked to be a standing, drinking shit show of a crowd!!!!!! I am certain that my recording of the HipÕs set would have sucked as a result. With any luck the AKGÕs recording will surface. |
