A bit of crowd noise but not as bad as I thought it would be. Ocassionally you can hear me dodging the idiots but very rarely. Also I guessed a little high on the levels but according to the dB numbers it's ok. It's a little hot but any problems with the signal aren't very noticeable. I was impressed as there was quite a bit of punch in the music. Not really the smooth jazz I was expecting. As far as performances, this was my favorite set overall this week. I'm not too big on Vocalists or DJ's but they were both great. The Special guests made this show...special. I don't think it was unique to these shows but it is really cool when Marcus cruises through the crowd while playing his bass clarinet. He then stays out in the crowd and conducts and directs the band and adds his Bass Clarinet sounds when they were playing off each other. Too cool. Marcus was pretty funny both during the performance and also when I talked to him after the shows. You will see some of what I mean. Really nice version of "People Make the World Go Round" in this set. My favorite, in fact I like it a lot better than the "Master of All Trades" version and I am a big Dean Brown fan. I found that just going to have a good time was the best way for me to enjoy and experience Marcus' band. I didn't get hung up on the songs, tone, or expecting to be blown away. Just good time music. I tried to cut a little of the low mids but we all were missing it and one of our favorite aspects of the show was that full sounding bass with punch rather than the smooth trebley twang I sometimes hear from Marcus. So my preference (and also others that have heard this too) was to leave the eq the way it sounded when we were enjoying the concert. I couldn't really track the last songs because there isn't one split second where a note isn't being played so it's a long track that flows together nicely. I wasn't to wild about "Free" at first but it grew on me. That was the main reason I wanted to track it but it's pretty nice. This concert somewhat flows like a 70's concept album which I really enjoy. I believe you all will want to listen to it all the way through. I split the crowd and talking at the end into another track if you want to just burn it to one cd without the last track. Or you could try to overburn it. I gave away quite a few cd's so that is for those cd people. I'm sharing this one because it was a very fun set. It was a little tough to record under the circumstances and with this Saturday night crowd but it's definitely a very enjoyable listen. I have listened to it probably over 30 times so far and so have the other people I have given it to. It's a kick in the pants. Get Down...and Boogie if you want to. marcusmiller2008-04-26-late-t01.flac:b8eed21b9a71d20348c87701c0fb16f2 marcusmiller2008-04-26-late-t02.flac:d2c091f216e28bb0b08801a3fffbd255 marcusmiller2008-04-26-late-t03.flac:75076aeb0ed21695e6fcac06601b5b21 marcusmiller2008-04-26-late-t04.flac:24c901f3f4a585e0641578ddb080d7cd marcusmiller2008-04-26-late-t05.flac:3896ea7ab2e8ada838543b65af43ed08 Checksum file saved to disk.
