DOLPHIN COMMENT from Thedatabank.org Normally I'm not a fan of the O.N.A. aftershows. The main concerts were amazing, but with the odd exception I found the aftershows from this tour leant FAR too heavily on the horns section, but that's just my musical taste. This show however is a beauty. The beginning 4 tracks are mind-blowing guitar HEAVY, culminating in 'Whole Lotta Love'. This is my favourite version of the track from ANY show - it's perfection, and really needs to be played L-O-U-D to appreciate it. Saying it's excellent doesn't do it justice - it's fucking excellent!!!. During 'The One' someone obviously takes Prince's picture, much to his disgust, as he stops the song and gets angry at the guy ("take him and twist his neck"). The crowd are excellent throughout the whole aftershow, but no more so than when Prince gets them to chant 'Copenhagen, we be shakin', as they continue long after he has left the stage for a break, and continue for the next few minutes - it's really cool to hear. Prince returns for some (ahem) rapping on 'Prince & The Band', I'm not sure what is worse here - Prince messing up the lyrics, or the fact that the lyrics are so terrible. Either way - it's cringeworthy to listen to. The show ends with a laid-back, very cool version of 'Dolphin'. This particular release comes as a limited edition of 500 in a DVD style slim case, with a fold out poster. Also available (without the DJ Intro) on Sabotage as audience Funkin' Copenhagen, or as soundboard One Nite Alone In Copenhagen. Enjoy! |
