  This show came from Jeff Salmon as a cd-da and was extracted using 
  EAC in secure/high mode.  This is an indoor venue, and the recording 
  is a DAUD.  So the sound is muffled and the bass is accentuated.
  The band also credits the show as being in Denver a few times, not 
  Crested Butte.  The details of that are still unclear at the time this 
  was seeded to Etree in May 2002.  Some rare Spearhead songs appear in 
  this show's setlist, like:  Red Beans and Rice, Keep Me Lifted, 
  Hole In The Bucket, and Home, which make this show more unique.  
 
  It's also sort of evolutionary, because we hear Yes I Will and 
  Feeling Free when they were in their very early stages.  Listen for 
  what's been scrapped and what's been kept.  Sort of neat.  It's 
  interesting how a year later now, those unreleased tracks are still 
  not out on an album in the USA.  Other shows in the Summer or 2001 
  had more energy than this show, and the song choices, where they put 
  a bunch of slow songs in the encore for example, could have been better.  
  Radio does the beatbox mix of Billy Jean in Sometimes.  The other thing 
  that came up when listening to this show was how Michael seems to sing 
  the last two songs in a key that's too high for him.

  done differently.  But no changes or edits were made.  It didn't 
  seem worth the effort, as this show is best listened to in one pass
  and was treed this way on Freaky & Free.

Notes:
    Perfect sound except for the awful distortion in Stay Human,
  and the two points with static in Runfayalife.  Huge Radio solo in 
  Positive to some hot Carl beats on bass!  Huge Carl solo on Stay 
  Human at 5:00!  It's nuts!  Trust.  Dave does his skat/guitar solo 
  trick in the same song.  ESS has some incredibly clear backup from 
  the band, about 3/4 thru.  Goapele and Kevin take solos in Do Ya Love.  
    The second disc starts a little flat.  No extended jams, sort of 
  thin.  Maybe Rock the Nation starts to warm it up, though, and 2nd 
  Hole, played normal style, is very tight, as usual.  Carl sings these 
  "so hit me with the rhythm" backup versus.  They mix Summertime into 
  the Bucket also.  But the most notable part of the night is the huge 
  duel between Dave and Carl in Sometimes around 4:00.  Carl's bass is 
  thundering in this show during Stay and Sometimes.  A must have if 
  you're a Carl fan.

    This was a fun show, up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, about 20 km 
  Northwest of Lake Tahoe.  Radio's birthday was the night before, when 
  Spearhead was jamming with Karl Denson's Tiny Universe.  Michael kided 
  Radio about it at the end of track 2.  What Happens Next was an unreleased 
  track when this show was performed.  Skin On The Drum was done by Michael 
  a capella.  Hole In The Bucket was a slower, rare tune, in which they 
  played a huge jam in the middle and Michael freestyled.  Later he spoke 
  about the death penalty in t8 and closed the show with a long Sometimes 
  loaded with solos.  Overall a fun, outdoor festival.  Sound: A-  Show: A

Notes:   This show is like 3 hours of sunshine on foggy day.  Seeded 
         by the band via the legendary Kramerdank, this was a headline
         show down in S.B. that captures them in tremendous form, akin 
         to the famous NYE-NYD.  I could describe the highlights, but 
         I was having too much fun listening to the show.  Man I wish 
         I had caught this one.   Well, wait until they play the County 
         Bowl sometime...!   Retracked in CDWav to split out Radio's solo 
         and to make the tracks begin just before the songs.  Setlist, notes,

    This New Year Eve spectacular up in Mendocino begins with 70% of 
  Soulshine cut.  The sound levels on d1 increase and stabalize after 
  about 15 secs. 
  
    It was a special night in Northern California.  The highlights were:
  Positve, the Yes I Will in which Radio does a classic intro, all the 
  solos in Stay Human, the Bomb The World dub, Leon Weir, Family Affair,
  and the Jam to begin d3.  Frankly, all of disc 3 is a gem, incredible.
  Kevin and Leon really light it up and make it epic.  Longest Sometimes
  ever played.  That night, Michael never seemed to lose a breath and 
  sang at his best.  The band got onboard with the idea real soon, and 
  by the third song, Positive, it all gelled.  Here you'll find them all
  at their very best.
