The best funky Meters show ever?  Tough to beat this one.  Almost every song segues to the next as they move effortlessly across covers ands their own catalog.  A rare "I Need More Time" is also a highlight and who can miss the great Bonnie Raitt sitting in! Great show, well mixed, perfect soundboard with hotter/better levels than the previous night's recording.  A 17 minute version of Fire on the Bayou caps this smokin' 2:20 long set.  A must have for any funk fan.

Two hours of steady jams and grooves, with just the first few seconds of the show's beginning missing.  The taper needed about 2 minutes to get the levels set and then everything is fine.  As is common with the Sonics, there was more bass and less treble than ideal.  A little EQ helps.

Between Do You Wanna Dance and Iko Iko appears a curious snippet of music and lyrics that GP Jr. says is a "bastardized Bo Diddley groove that Art Neville just made up words to."

_ This is an upgrade to the previously circulating copy that was out-of-phase. It is identical in every other way. Thanks to nolataper for pointing out the problem.
_ D1T01 starts at a segue. Don't know how much is missing.
_ There's a hum that appears intermittently. I've found it only very noticeable with headphones.
_ The drum speed fluctuations at the end of Just Kissed My Baby was Russell having fun, not a problem with the recording.
_ I would normally balance the lengths of a two-disc show but the first 70+ minutes are uninterrupted and I thought it best to keep it that way. Feel free to burn it any way you wish. If you move D1T17 to the second disc, it'll at least reach about 30 minutes.
