Jerry Garcia and John Kahn October 16, 1985 The Catalyst Santa Cruz, CA Digital mix from 4 channel cassette master - Soundboard plus Microphones over stage - matrix mix - excellent sound quality. This is the first time that this has been digitally mixed from the masters, though it has circulated widely from an analog mix to PCM that was done about 15 years ago. This mix is a bit more ambient, the bass is louder and it does not have the DC-offset that is in the other version. Also this has the last song of the early show that was omitted from the previous seed. Complete recording of everything that was performed that night... Transfer: Yamaha MT44D (Dolby C on) > Macintosh with Echo Layla audio interface > AIFF > Pro Tools (digital matrix mix, normalization, time alignment & tracking) > AIFF > xAct (Flac level 8 files with sector boundaries verified). md5 file created with checkSum+.
