Hi! Music matters - it inspires us, it moves us, and it even soothes our soul! It brings all kinds of people together - it even brought you to my list. So let's have fun with it; spread the tunes and the smiles they bring.
- I always extract with EAC and burn DAO (disc-at-once). This produces CDs without dead-air gaps or digital pops/clicks between the tracks. This is essential on 'live' recordings. I expect the same from you. If you don't know what EAC and DAO are, drop me a note - I'll explain them and point you to the software you'll need to get in order to do this the right way.
- I burn with EAC and Roxio EasyCD Creator 5 Platinum on an HP 9600i (12x) CD-writer. If I'm doing a B&P for you, don't send me disks that aren't rated up to at least 12X.
- I use TDK and Sony 74min CDR's, and Fuji 80min CDR's, all rated to at least 12X. I expect you to use similar quality, e.g. no generics, Memorex, Maxell, and especially no Imation.
- ** I ship source info, setlist and notes, and track listing for each CD with each and every show I trade or B&P. I expect the same - I really don't want to have to 'divine' the contents of your CDs like the Magnificent Karnak. So take a few moments and document what you're shipping ... everyone you trade with will be very appreciative! **
- Include a note or copy of our e-mails discussing the trade/b&p, with a mention of the shows/dates we're working on and your e-mail address.
- I also trade .shns if you prefer.
- If you have any questions about a show, feel free to e-mail me anytime.
- ** NEVER trade something that has been sourced/extracted from an MP3.
- Always ship discs in sleeves, and only one disc to a sleeve!
- Don't write on the discs!
- Always use *~ bubble ~* mailers ... NO fiber mailers!
- I try to do B&Ps as time permits. I'm currently acting as a branch for a number of YMSB and SCI shows, so B&P time is limited. Join a list, like the 'Incidentalist' for fans of The String Cheese Incident, and you'll never run out of B&P opportunities. The Incidentalist can be found at http://www.well.com/~mitchh/sci/.
- Remember the Golden Rule! Treat the folks you trade and do B&Ps with the way you ~want~ to be treated, and your mailbox will always be full of rich and wonderful tunes.
Keep Smilin' ... it's contagious!
Tom
