Welcome to my list. My rules look long and intimidating, but they aren?t.. all common sense stuff. I really love trading live music, and by looking at my list, you can pretty much tell what I like to collect, but I am always up for trying something new. My main collecting focus though is Blues Traveler, so if you have something I don?t, email me and we will definitely work something out.
B&P Information
I am pretty much always willing to B&P for people. (If you don?t know what that is, look here: http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/) B&P is great for newbies who haven?t developed enough of a collection to do much trading. We all start somewhere, and I remember when I didn?t have any shows. It was though B&P that I got started. I try to offer up B&P?s publicly on a regular basis, but you don?t have to wait for an offer to get one. All you have to do is ask, and I?ll be more than happy to extend one to you. The only rules I have is be reasonable (don?t ask for 20 discs or something like that, and please make sure that you include a note or a printed email (ideal) in your package so I remember what I?m supposed to do. I would prefer not doing international B&P's, they are just a huge hassle with the trip to the post office and such. If you're interested in my shows and outside of North America, possibly we can work out an etrade.
Trading Information
I?m almost always up for a trade, and at this moment am VERY active. I am flexible and we can almost always work something out. I?m not a stickler for making sure things are always 100% even in trades (number of shows, discs, etc). This community is about spreading the music, not keeping track of pennies.
Freebies
A lot of times I offer up freebies or will volunteer people?s B&P requests as freebies?.. It?s all in the spirit of the hobby.
Media Formats
I?m very flexible with media formats as well. The only stipulation I have is that I only collect in SHN or FLAC formats. These are compressed lossless audio formats. I prefer not having CDAudio discs, but will take them when I don?t have any other choice. They are simply more cumbersome to trade, have the potential to have data corruption, and don?t come with all of the source info. The compressed SHN, and FLAC are much cleaner to trade, and they insure that every copy is identical to the source.
I can burn on CDR, CDRW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW. In addition, I am willing to meet traders in real life for fast LAN trades provided they are not too far away and it will be for a significant size trade.
For doing CD trades, I personally do not have a preference to what type of discs I receive. I do not archive my shows on CD, therefore I am not a stickler about receiving Fuji, TDK or other Japan made discs as some are. When I receive discs from trades, I will usually turn around and offer them as freebies, once they have been archived in my system. I do keep a wide variety of CDR?s in stock though to meet other?s requests, including Japan-made TDK?s.
If you see anything on my list you want, email me, email me, email me, email me! I'd be glad to help you out. This community exists because of a giving spirit!!!
