I feel that stratcat58's tape sounds generally better than the 1st gen. It has stronger high end and you can hear more detail but you can also sometimes hear some distortion in the right channel that's not present on the 1st gen. Karmamania's 1st gen also has more tuning up before AHM and Cymbaline. Worth keeping both I would say. Karmamania explained on the Brain Damage website that the master was recorded using a Sony TC80 mono portable cassette recorder, smuggled in a schoolbag, and a BASF cassette. The original tape ran out after five and a half minutes into Saucerful. The show was recorded about fifty yards from the stage in the stalls.
