After a leisurely morning I made it to the venue early afternoon. Since it was easy getting my gear in the previous night I brought the NBox Platinum preamp which is larger and harder to navigate with metal detectors. When the doors opened the search was much harder than the first day but I still had no real difficulty getting my gear in. The people behind me were not happy since I was preventing them from getting in but it was out of my control. Once inside it was all pretty easy. For this show Trombone Shorty was the "headliner" and Ben Harper came on second. The Jessy Wilson set was good and I felt she was becoming more comfortable with her set compared to the previous two nights. Next up was Ben Harper. It seemed like the band felt like they had to step up there since they were the "opener". Opening with Ground on Down was really fun. Similar setlist to the previous night except Amen Omen was added in which was also a treat. When Ben Harper finished his set a bunch of the people I knew left but I stuck it out for the Trombone Shorty set too. Their set was really good too. I am glad I stayed (although I always do) and enjoyed myself. After the set finished I made my way to my friend's bar for a few cold ones. |
