E: Terrapin Station Just a Pavement Left Production Known flaws: This was filmed with a several year old point and shoot digi-cam - hardly the cutting edge of tech. Its zoom is not so powerful, and (believe it or not) it does not record sound - so it was quite time consuming to sync the video to audio in post. I found a location in the venue where the camera could be rested (and electrical-taped) to a ledge, so it is mostly quite stable even w/o a tripod. Due to an artificial file length limit imposed by the camera and the need for frequent battery changes, small gaps exist every 20 minutes or so. Most are between songs, only 5-6 seconds in length and were patched using other sources (video stills, photos or footage from internet sources). In two instances, no suitable patch could be found - 6 seconds at the start of 'China Cat' and then about 1.5 minutes of 'Unbroken Chain' during the piano solo. For these, I used internet footage from elsewhere in the same show but slowed down to about half-speed to make the sleight of hand more obvious. Finally, I was pretty ham-handed about swapping out memory cards and batteries during the 'Terrapin' encore - I ended up missing about a third to half of it. Those sections are patched using enhanced and stabilized YouTube footage. All in all, I am quite pleased with the results of an essentially make-shift recording set-up: a very enjoyable document of an extremely wonderful and memorable night's music. Please circulate freely and widely!! (to restate the obvious: this recording is never to be sold or traded for profit or other gain) Comment are welcome at pavement_left@hotmail.com - please include "TAPING" in the subject line to avoid the spam filter. Also please email me if you have or know of any footage of the following night's (NYE 12/31/2009) third and final set after 'Let It Grow' - I ran out of battery power at that point. Look for my video of the first two sets wherever you found this!
