I had been trying to find a way to make it to this show or the one in NYC just to hear 'By the Pain...' but decided to be a responsible adult instead. Out of nowhere Swijj gets in touch with this wonderful show attached. ~~Love and groovy vibes your way, Swijj~~ 2] Further cementing my love of the 943s, this recording is very nice and editing was minor- EQ consisted largely of taming the bass. Channels go a little bit out of balance in the middle of 'Cusp of Eternity' but it's minimal and is corrected again at the start of set two. 3] Fantastic performance...and 'By the Pain I See in Others'!!! While playing faster than on the album is usual for Opeth, it sounds a little messy for this song. On the flip side, 'Closure' is played downtempo and minimalist, and I find it especially groovy here. I've never been hot on 'Closure' live, but in this instance I really like it. |
