I was completely hands off on tickets - basically, I pre-ordered them as a Member/Donor for the Mann Center and you never know what you actually get in the mail. And usually - clearly not always - tickets are pretty good. This time, I literally could not believe that they sent me Circle tickets. But to be fair (and less selfish!), the sound quality is miles (no pun intended) better than one gets at the Mann close to the stage. ESPECIALLY for PIXIES - being close means essentially karaoke - been there, done that! And since my most recent 'from the stage' Pixies show was a mere 2 weeks ago - with predictably low vocals - I figured, "HEY" :) might as well get a nice tape! So here it comes :) The mix in my opinion is great! And even better post BLG touch-ups!! I should say: PIXIES as an 'opener' - for anyone - is a bit of nonsense to me; so seeing all these rows of empty seats to be later occupied by still happily beer drinking Robert Plant fans - I felt a little distressed. They clearly DID NOT. The showed up precisely to a minute at 7:30 PM, just as my dear friend Joe and I finished our first round of crafted beer and settled in - and played a solid blazing loud 1 hour set. And they DID PLAY "HEY" - which is one of my favorites that I did not get to hear at the Beacon in May :) I am 100% convinced I was the only one standing and dancing in my row. I hope you enjoy this!
