Vamos We travelled to this show from a long ways out and with the recent shakeups in band personnel it would be interesting to see how the dynamics worked out. Any concerns were quickly allayed as it was evident from that start that new bass player Paz Lenchantin fit right in and even sung Kim's parts with ease, eliciting frequent smiles from Charles and co. Very long setlist from Pixies in Denver this tour - 36 songs. Recorded from the right side, probably 25 feet back from the stack with hat mount. My first time in the Fillmore and it was a lot larger than I expected and completely sold out at that. The line when we arrived was down the block but most folks headed to the bar once inside and there was even a full pat down at the door. I have taped Pixies probably 10 times prior to this and song transitions were never smoother/quicker so I think they've been rehearsing quite a bit. |
