It was the cheaper of the 2 mics listed above - just can't remember which was which now - likely 737. Alot of fiddling around with levels in 1st tune. -I will never forget this show: one of the few times I got narced on by a member of the audience for recording, seriously. As it was, Great American was tough on recording - did the full search on way in, etc. and I had been caught a couple times in that process, so they were onto me. I used to try and sit off to a side table there, but it was a full house this night and there weren't many choices so I got stuck at a table dead center. Well, apparently the guy sitting in the table behind me saw me do my cassette flip and told the waitress. She accosted me about it and I told her no way was I recording (I knew she couldn't see deck or mic), so she backed off. Unfortunately, that meant I didn't dare do a cassette change, so the last 2 songs and 10-15 minutes are missing: "Thanks, you prick." (been meaning to get that out for years!). Otherwise, this show blew me away: just loved this band and these were its earliest days around "The Immigrants" album after Weather Update in one of the first configurations - just smokin' stuff! -as master recorder, I do not grant any rights to anyone under any circumstances to sell in any form whatsoever. Please trade freely in lossless formats only - keep the gene pool clean! -recorded, mastered and seeded by matt23. |
