Since this post is my 1,000 upload (both TTD and dime combined), I thought it would be a great idea to post something that has a personal meaning for myself. I realize that nobody is gonna know who this band was unless you lived in CT and actually saw them play from around the Hartford area. The band Accidental Groove had been a band that played originals and covers since the mid 90's until 2010-ish. I first saw one of their gigs while opening for another band in 1999. I was a very active filmer / taper during these years. This band seemed to get my attention for a few reasons. I ended up following this band in my area and filming about 12 of their shows. They went through some line up changes over the years, but the singer and drummer are a married couple, they always were the core members. In August 2003, AG had entered the Hartford Advocate's state contest for band competitions that were being held outside at the Mohegan Sun Casino. I didn't attended those shows, but the winner was Accidental Groove. Part of their reward was a 4 day run at the Wolf Den in Jan 2004. The Wolf Den was my stomping grounds and I taped over 125 shows there. So when one of my favorite local bands were scheduled to play 4 days, I was definitely gonna be there. Normally I filmed this band, but since we were in the casino, there was no way i was going to film, so....... I brought my mini disc recorder and captured the audio instead. I hadn't seen this band play since early 2002 and there were a couple new faces in the band. I also didn't know what songs they were going to play. Each set was a suprise to me and a somewhat different show than i had experienced before. I soon realized that the Wolf Den wasn't exactly the best venue to draw a crowd for a local band. Mohegan's Wolf Den is filled with gamblers that don't care who's playing on stage. I think there were about 40 people watching for each show, mostly friends and family. This band packed local bars and clubs. so to see them in the Wolf Den play to a sparse crowd was strange for me. I was very proud of them for winning this big competition, but they really seemed out of place inside the casino, though not there fault. This was the first day of shows. I went to all 4 days and taped everything and took pictures. Accidental Groove celebrates their 10th anniversary https://www.sonicbids.com/band/accid...07533394de76b/ https://www.sonicbids.com/band/accidentalgroove/press/ 2003 Hartford Advocate's winner for Best Pop Rock unit. Best Female Vocalist - DeAnna (Accidental Groove) This little lady is a powerhouse vixen on stage. Though often greeted by a sea of skeptical faces when performing for an audience unfamiliar with her band´s sound, once she starts singing people are promptly astounded by her presence and vocal power. One of the founding members of Accidental Groove, Deanna has been singing for over 15 years and was active in musical theater throughout high school and college. Not surprisingly in 2005-08-03 Hartford Advocate Grand Band Slam. Singer Deanna took home Best Female Vocals and band took Best Original Band. Again in 2005 !!!! They were Connecticut's most popular local band during these years. I can't remember for sure, but i think the band were doing 4 sets each day?? I have printed out set lists taken from the stage. I may have only stayed for the first 2 sets? During "Boys of Summer" it sounds like the lead guitar goes out at 1:05 ? I've included 12 pictures taken during this show. Deanna Drapeau - lead vocals Guy Drapeau - drums Jennifer Gallo - lead guitar Dave Bucalo - keyboard Rob Waldron - bass Mark ... - guest vocalist singing the lead parts on the Bon Jovi songs.
