Comment | This is Frank's set at the Heavy Metal Holocaust, Port Vale Football Stadium, Stoke, England, 1st August 1981. It became infamous due to headliners Motorhead's insistence on building the biggest ever PA system ever assembled in the UK. In order to do that it had to be bigger than that at the Isle Of Wight Festival in 1970.
Frank played in the afternoon, in clear skies, luckily with the PA at manageable levels, which was not the case later on. Frank was followed by Ozzy Osbourne (with the late Randy Rhoads in his band, Ozzy was a belated replacement for his ex-colleagues Black Sabbath) and Motorhead. |
