J-Card CommentNotes: As big fans, we were at the Kool Koncert this year to see the headliner, Tears for Fears; my wife had previously seen them at Red Rocks in 1985, at the height of their fame, but, this was my first time seeing them. To our surprise and delight, they played three songs from their very underrated (but, likely best) album "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending." We were seated in Section 101, row LL, but, on the inside, almost in front of the soundboard - our best tickets to a concert in years. It was a beautiful night, with a bit of wind, which throws the mix around a bit here and there, but, over- all, it was a great show and a great crowd. Other than myself and my wife, there isn't much in the way of overt audience chatter on the recording - and we more or less keep it quiet. I'd suffered a pretty severe throat infection a few weeks back, the result being that I was still hacking a little for the show - you can hear this a couple of times, most notably during the breakdown at the end of 'Sowing the Seeds'. There's at least one point during the show where there's a nasty feedback / garble sound that emanated from the sound system - it sounds like the recording, but, it actually occurred at the venue. During one song, I had to go to the bathroom, so, I unpinned the mike, pinned it to my wife's shirt, handed her the PCM and went - I've listened to this recording all the way through, and I can't tell where that occurs. There's also the occasional mike bump, rustle and other movement. As always, much thanks goes to the love of my life, my wife, without whom this recording would not have been possible. I recorded this as 24 bit 48K KHZ and decided to share it at the highest possible quality, so, you'll need to downsample if you plan on burning this to CDR - other than split into tracks, I have done no remastering or editing to this recording (so, what you hear is what happened at the event, as it happened). I can't control what you do with this once it's out in the open, but, would appreciate if you keep the file set intact and not profit from the recording.
