Note Master Series #99

Hello, this is a collection of masters I would like to seed here. I've been taping shows for more than 20 years and have an
awful lot of masters. Most of them are in the old cassette format, some others are on MiniDisc and others are on CD. I've
taped many shows of many artists over the years, so don't be surprised if you will find many different artists taped! Some
shows are already circulating, some others have not circulated through collectors yet. But most of all, enjoy!
They all come from my masters!

We're now close to the end of my Master Series, which will end on #100 (although I have many more masters) with a special
three-releases covering rock, progressive and jazz. These three releases will be very special: at least two of them have
never seen the light in trading and the third one is an upgrade of an existing show. So, just be patient and follow my master
series till release 100 and you won't be disappointed!

My next series won't cover masters, but shows that have something special in it. Could be a special guest (as the recent Black
Crowes gig with Jimmy Page), a special occasion or maybe a show where an accident happened. It'll be lots of fun for you
guys!

As a final release before the celebration of #100, allow me a bit of self-indulgency. When I used to go and see lots of
concerts (and tape them!) I was also writing on a rock magazine and so I happen to make lots of interviews. I've spoken with
lots of artists, but to stay in the prog rock field I spoke to Peter Gabriel, IQ, Asia, Pendragon, Jon Anderson, Bill
Bruford, Dream Theater, Marillion, PFM, Porcupine Tree and many more. One of the artists I spoke to most frequently is Steve
Hackett, one of the kindest person I've ever met. I must have interviewed him 6 or 7 times over the years! All my interviews
are well stored in my private collection because I don't see any value in sharing this material, but this time I want to
make an exception and share this interview, as a bonus of this very nice show from the 1994 tour. What happened was that I
was supposed to interview Steve before the show the day before, then Steve got stuck with a longer-than-expected soundcheck.
Then I was proposed to talk to him after the gig but Steve was quite tired, so we agreed to do that the day after at around
midday in a nice hotel in Cernobbio, nearby the lake of Como. I've chosen this interview because Steve was in good mood and
willing to talk about everything, from blues to Genesis. For example, it is curious to hear that Steve would have liked to
play harmonica on Genesis albums, but he wasn't allowed to! Or that Genesis rehearsed in studio a track that would later on
appear on Steve's Voyage on the Acolyte album, called Shadows of a Hierophant. Also, because the Woluwé 1971 tape had just
been unearthed, I asked him if he recalled having played a track called The Light in the early days.
The interview is preceded by a very nice acoustic show with John and Julian Colbeck and it sounds very nice. I had to
balance the overall sound with the applauses. When you have acoustic shows the level of the applauses could be very high, so
I had to work a little bit on this one. The result is really enjoyable!

Enjoy this one and wait for the 3-shows of the forthcoming #100 release!
