I’ve only recently discovered the Guitar Noir period and it is a delight. Steve finally learns how to sing his own songs on record. He also develops his own style, where the acoustic guitar finds a home in a rock setting: Take these pearls, There are many sides to the night and Dark as the Grave. Try them. This show was given to me in a trade. I’ve only just listened to it. It’s an audience recording but very clear and enjoyable. The main thing to listen to is the band. They rock!
