The second set had a stage set full of candy and twenty foot mushrooms. A video screen displayed scenes from the 1971 film. The band were joined by a cellist, a xylophone player and a couple of Oompa Loompas! During the encores there was video footage of an Oompa Loompa trying to get into Apsley Cottage, the pub adjacent to the venue, but his head was too big to get through the door. He then visited Old Trafford and the Etihad Stadium provoking cheers or boos from the opposing factions in the crowd when he held up the respective football shirts. |
