This is “CBG Classic Master Video Series Vol.27â€. After filming David Lee Roth at Nassau Coliseum the night before and seeing the warm-up band Poison, but only being able to try and film approx. 12 minutes of their performance at Nassau because I didn’t want to risk getting caught before Roth took the stage and some ushers were coming around me which caused me to stop filming Poison, I decided since I have the one Roth show at Nassau under my belt, why not try to film Poison this night. I did like that they played Rock and Roll All Nite from Kiss as a cover song and a few other songs were catchy. I had seen them one other time warm up Ratt the year before in New Haven Coliseum, and their video Talk Dirty to Me was all over MTV, so I knew some of the songs. I think this was before the video Nothin’ But A Good Time was released to MTV. Glam-Rock was at an all-time high at this point with Poison coming out of the LA Club scene. They were like the 3rd generation behind Van Halen, then 2nd generation Motley Crue, Quiet Riot and Ratt. They seemed a little more polished this time around with a US tour and album under their belts. Still, they were a warm-up band right before they were about to make it big as headliners. They seemed hungry and energetic to show everyone what Poison was about. They had a limited stage to use since they were in front of Roth’s equipment. It was a fun night in the suburb of Boston.
