| Tech Note | Jerry Garcia Rolling Stone Magazine 20 Year Anniversary TV Special Raw interview footage 1987 updated info: interview by Steve Marcus in the Dead office in San Rafael, California in October of 1986 (thanks to ECB for the correction) Sorry unfamiliar with how to post a screenshot here but this would be considered very nice quality by anyone's standard Listen in on an hour of Jerry telling stories and answering questions from an off camera interviewer. This is the interview session where the Jerry Garcia sound bites in the 1987 Rolling Stone Magazine TV special come from. The interviewer has no microphone so his voice is distant. Starts off with a calibration screen and test tone. I lowered the volume of this part and your ears have been saved. Includes a time bar. Chapter marks for each segment. Accurate lineage is unavailable. I made a copy of this back in 1994. This copy is most likely 2nd generation from the master tape but it is very clear. It does have a few warts but they are quick and not very distracting Maybe someone has an even better copy and seeing this will dig it out and share. Otherwise this is pretty cool. Just over 60 minutes long. | Comment | Not a "compilation" but is the PRO shot Studio 1987 Raw interview footage for a RS 20 Year Anniversary magazine TV special. It has many "parts" or "segments". The interviewer's questions are barely audible or not at all. The things Jerry says are easily heard. A close look into the man & his feelings on many very interesting topics. Janis, Hendrix, Woodstock, the Acid Tests, and much much more. This is a MUST HAVE interview for all Jerry fans. (the city & state shown is a best guess but seems logical, it WAS filmed in some STUDIO, somewhere.) |
