| Tech Note | Performance Date investigated March 2016:: - Down played Norwich on April 10, were OFF April 11, played Manchester on April 12, played London on April 13, were OFF April 14, and played Dublin on April 15. - Maide Vale sessions are typically 2-3 takes of each song to get sound right. Since process is time-consuming, recording this April 13 is highly unlikely as recording time would not have provided enough time for a sound check at their regularly scheduled gig that night. - There was a thread on the DownBoard (since taken offline) by Jimmy Bower on April 12 titled "Norwich and the BBC", which specifically lumped these two shows together in his review. Bower hinted here they covered Zeppelin, meaning the recording already took place. - Checking with people who attended these shows, it was remembered it was almost certainly the day after Norwich. They partied in Norwich after that performance, then travelled to London to record the BBC session on April 11. Fans specifically remember having a conversation with Bower in Manchester, asking him how the BBC session went. - Broadcast date was definitely April 22, Greenwich Mean Time. I pulled the rip very late April 21/very early April 22 (Eastern Time Zone), and posted a download link on the DownBoard at 2:43 am on April 22. Regardless, that puts the BBC local broadcast date as April 22. |
