Tech NoteJerry Garcia SCUBA dive trip Kona, HI 11-29-91 Another video from the Graceful Duck Archive Video: VHS > Standalone Panasonic DMR-E50 (XP)> TMPGenc DVD Author 3 > Audio added by re-burning project to Standalone Panasonic DMR-E50 (XP) Audio source: Phil and Ned (Seastones) 10-20-74 SBD edited to fit video. No Artwork Chapters: every 5 minutes approx. NTSC / Stereo TRT: 24:23 Audio codec: AC3 Audio bitrate: 256 kb/s Video codec: MPEG2 Video bitrate: 9069 kb/s Picture resolution: 704x480 My friend Tom gave me this tape years ago. He was on his honeymoon, and by chance ended up on a dive with Garcia. After his divorce we had a visit with him and his new wife, my dear friend Karen. Well, Tom did not want to see any images of his ex, and after seeing my video collection he knew it was best if I kept it. I edited out the non-essential footage, removed the official GD soundtrack, and added Seastones from 10-20-74. There are a few blemishes due to age and tapewear. There is also a frozen frame for a few seconds (about 10 minutes in). But overall, this is a glimpse of Jerry doing something he really enjoyed. Much is written about his passion for diving, but seeing him petting eels, feeding a school of tropical fish and hanging on the deck of a boat in the warm Hawaiian sun will certainly put a smile on your face. I share this with love.
