| Tech Note | Info File: The Cars live at The Paradise Boston, Massachusetts USA July 01, 1978 WBCN-FM broadcast This must have circulated before, but I can't find it anywhere currently so I made a fresh transfer from my master cassette of the broadcast. I taped it, played it once, and stored it away for the past 30 years. The opening act at this show was Suicide (with Alan Vega) but I don't think it was broadcast (much too-strong stuff for 'BCN I'm pretty sure); whatever the case was, I don't have it. I did enough research and consulted with a Cars collector at Etree to be certain that it contains no officially released tracks. If it turns out that it does, I'm sure I'll learn of it the hard way :-( This is a good-sounding broadcast with little or no transmission loss, with a tape-flip gap in one track. Please correct any mis-titles or other mistakes; I'm not that much of a Cars fan but I apppreciate accurate information on my boots so feel free to blast away. That said, I did enjoy hearing this again - I liked the Cars live much more than on record, and here they play well with a very enthusiastic crowd (including a screaming girl who sounds like she was being murdered repeatedly).
