| Tech Note | Remastering info: Before falling into my hands this show had been viciously noise reduced, leaving virtually no high end except transient tinkling in the louder spikes that broke the NR threshold. The high frequencies have been partially restored through harmonic enhancement. This leaves a somewhat artificial sound to the top end that, although somewhat irritating, is nowhere near as bad as the excessive NR artifacts previously evident. My hope is that one day the untouched master will make the rounds and the NR will be done by someone with more skills in this department (if necessary at all). Besides this repair remastering consisted of some EQ, speed correction because it ran too fast (a semitone high), and removal of a rather loud low end hum. |
