NoteTen years on, here is my hitherto uncirculated recording of one of the greatest singers I've ever witnessed. This was recorded at the Kitchen, in front of a small audience who remained silent for the entire performance and broke into enthusiastic applause at the conclusion of the concert.
The music is a mix of standards and spirituals made famous among others, by Bessy Smith, Pete Seeger, and the devil himself, I'm sure. Some of the tunes would wind up on Defixiones, Will And Testament and La Serpenta Canta a few years after this performance.

The digital transfer is completely unaltered, i.e. without EQ, compression, thus preserving the dynamic range and the complete performance in real time. It's raw, essentially. The loudest sound will be the clapping at the very end. Your system should survive fine.
