Comment | Doug & his great Austin buddy Alvin Crow do a rock & roll oldies gig.
Alvin’s normal gig is playing fiddle & singing in Alvin Crow & the Pleasant Valley Boys (western swing, C&W and old R&R standards). Speedy plays bass in the Leroi Brothers and played bass with Rocky Erikson’s late 70’s+80’s bands. Frosty has played with lots of fairly famous bands including Lee Michaels (he moved to Austin from California in the mid 80’s). The Hole In the Wall is a tiny dive on the Drag in Austin. It’s about 25’ wide x 75’ deep and holds about 60 people max (more when the Fire Marshall isn’t looking !) Doug Sahm (guitar + vocals) Alvin Crow (guitar + vocals) John X. Reed (lead guitar) Speedy Sparks (bass) Frosty Bartholomew (drums) |
