It’s time to Eat ‘Em and Smile with the David Lee Roth Band! This rare upgrade of the classic Detroit 09.26.86 audience shot video features Diamond Dave and company performing a mixture of material fresh off the Eat ‘Em and Smile LP as well as classics from the Van Halen era! This 2DVD set is sourced from what I was told was *THE* master tape! I’d say it is either sourced from the master recording or a clean 1st gen transfer. The video quality of this release is superior to the 2005 “Crazy In Detroit†2DVD release from Digital Reproductions. However, the Crazy In Detroit release features an alternate soundtrack which sounds much better than the original VHS audio. Both versions of this amazing David Lee Roth/Steve Vai show have their positives and negatives. I’m torrenting this previously uncirculating master upgrade in honor of the 25th Anniversary of Diamond Dave’s very first performance as a solo artist in the motor city!
