| Note | Clean audience recording free of interference. The good news is that this is a sprawling show with a huge setlist that covers a lot of ground. The bad news is that Smashing Pumpkins Version 2.0 generates none of the fire or excitement that the vintage Pumpkins did. Billy's voice is abysmal for most of the show, and he sounds especially bored when tackling the older material. The band is technically tight, but there's just no magic here. If you're a die-hard you might enjoy this, but if you're in the club who thinks the farewell in 2000 should have been the way the Smashing Pumpkins name was put to a respectful rest, this performance won't do anything to convince you otherwise. |
