Comments: I didn't get a chance to see Transatlantic the last time
they came around ten years ago, so I jumped at the chance this time
around. Unfortunately, I was unable to get tickets for the seated
section, so this was recorded from the floor. Sound is pretty good,
but there are some woos and crowd chatter in places, but not too
bad. At one point, a very drunk girl spilled her beer on me.

The performance was great, despite a few technical mishaps. Neal's
microphone headset went out during the second track of "The Whirlwind"
and the song kind of came to a halt. The roadies hooked him up with
Roine's mic to finish the song, but evidently had problems finding
an extra mic for Neal, which led to an extended jam during "On The
Prowl". This also caused "The Whirlwind" to go about three minutes
over the standard 80 minutes that fits on a disc, so that is why I
have the last track of the epic as the first song on disc two. Luckily
the only break in "The Whirlwind" is before the last part, so it can
be split on to two discs without having to break it up in the middle
of the music. I wonder how long before nobody uses the audio-cd any
more, and we won't be limited to the 80 minute barrier.

As for the rest of the show, at one point, Neal seemed to get really
emotional during "Rose Colored Glasses". It was evident that he was
really moved by performing that song. I noticed that Neal and Roine
switched up the vocal parts on "We All Need Some Light". Roine threw
in a line from "Soon" on that one. The highlight had to be the last track,
"Stranger In Your Soul". At one point, Neal left the keyboard rack and
went over to play drums with Mike. Neal took over the drum kit completely
while Mike went stage diving! I'm amazed at Neal's versatility, being
able to play the keyboards, guitar and drums as well as he does. The
show clocks in over three hours in total, but they were definitely three
memorable hours!
