Note | "The Year That Punk Broke" silver. Nice board recording, but the performance is utter shit. Easy riffs are executed sloppily, the singing is tuneless and annoying, and the banter is beyond sophomoric. I know that pretty much sums up the Offspring as a band, but it's especially evident at this show. Dexter repeatedly tells the crowd how excited they are that this is the last night of the tour, and how they're dying to get home (because apparently it's always great to let the crowd know that you can't wait to get the show over with). I'm not sure if they're always this awful live, but for such a nice sounding recording, this document doesn't do anything to disprove my long-held belief that the Offspring are probably the fourth or fifth worst band ever. |
