J-Card CommentR.E.M. - Manchester Polytechnic, Manchester, England 1984-11-17 (remtorrent) set: So. Central Rain Letter Never Sent Sitting Still Auctioneer (Another Engine) (Don't Go Back To) Rockville Driver 8 ("new song") Gardening At Night 9-9 Windout Old Man Kensey 1,000,000 Pretty Persuasion Little America encore: Moon River Second Guessing Talk About The Passion Just A Touch In the Year 2525 We Walk/Behind closed doors After Hours Carnival Of Sorts (Boxcars) support: The Lucy Show Above info courtesy www.remtimeline.com (which, interestingly, doesn't list Behind closed Doors as being played. As you can hear it was and i'll be writing a stern note to Darryl to advise him of this) It's highly unlikely in my opinion that they would have started with So Central rain and, as other setlists around this time show that they usually played it about 4th or 5th song into the set, I'd guess that the first 3 or 4 songs are missing from this recording. It's a fairly rough and distant recording with a couple of stops and starts and tape wobbles but, hey, it was recorded 26 years ago on a portable wax cylinder in the middle of a crowd of noisy drunken students. What do we expect? Audience recording >> ??? >> TDK AR C90 cassette >> Sony TC-WE435 cassette deck >> Cool Edit 2000 (I cleaned up the beginnings and the ends, normalised to 0 db) >> CD Wave >> Flac6. Everything else was done with TLH
