J-Card Comment | R.E.M. - The Marquee, London, England 1984-04-30 (remtorrent) set: Pale Blue Eyes Moral Kiosk Burning Down Letter Never Sent Pilgrimage Seven Chinese Brothers So. Central Rain Talk About The Passion Sitting Still West Of The Fields Gardening At Night 9-9 Windout Little America encore 1: We Walk (it sounds like the taper stopped the tape until the encore started, started it when the band started to play We Walk then, after 3 seconds, realised he was right at the end of Side A then turned the tape over. You'll see what I mean...) Second Guessing 1,000,000 encore 2: Ghost Riders In The Sky Time After Time (Annelise) Carnival Of Sorts (Boxcars) [part] / Chicken Train / Carnival Of Sorts (Boxcars) notes: The first time Carnival Of Sorts is played there is an equipment breakdown, so Michael fills in the time with Chicken Train, before the problem is fixed and Carnival Of Sorts is played again support: The American Girls I've added an interview with Peter Buck that was broadcast on Saturday 05 May 1984. The show was Saturday Live and went out on BBC Radio One Saturday afternoons. The Timeline doesn't list this but notes that Peter was interviewed on May 1st 1984 for Capital Radio (another station which was based in London). This interview *may* therefore be incorrectly labelled but, hey, it's up to you how you label your bootlegs :-) Peter's interview was preceded by the Murmur version of Radio Free Europe and followed by the Reckoning version of So Central Rain Above info courtesy www.remtimeline.com The recording is a really clear and has no major glitches. Audience recording >> ??? >> Maxell XLII C90 cassette >> Sony TC-WE435 cassette deck (I tweaked this to return the recording to true pitch) >> Cool Edit 2000 (I cleaned up the beginnings and the ends, normalised to 0 db) >> CD Wave >> Flac6. Everything else was done with TLH |
