| Comment | This is a sweet little piece of history from what is easily the best prog band of the last 10 years. This video represents The Beard's set at Progfest '97, and the band is in ass bootin' form. Neal Morse (with long hair!) is in high spirits, joking around a lot, and the band was clearly having a blast on this night. The video is 1st gen sourced, and looks cystal clear with great lighting. The audio is straight off the soundboard, and is by itself reason enough to download this show.
The first 20 seconds or so are cut off the first song, just missing some atmospheric noodling before they kick into "Beware of Darkness." There are some sound issues toward the end of The Light (some crackling and dropouts), but they don't last too long. If you like the Beard, you need this. If you like prog but haven't heard the Beard (unlikely), you need this. If you have never heard of The Beard and don't know what prog is, but appreciate good music, you need this. ;) |
