Notes: First off, many thanks to "KRW CO" for providing us with a new source for this early Kansas date. His version is missing the first 30 seconds of "Mysteries And Mayhem" due to a reel flip. My silver CD of this show (which I uploaded here 5 years ago) is missing the first couple of seconds of the opening track "Song For America". This release marks the first time this wonderful show from Kansas´ hardest rocking years becomes available in its entirety. Remaster notes: I found KRW Co's capture to sound cleaner, so I used it as the main source. The volume however was too low, especially the left channel, so I normalized both channels seperately. Compared to other recordings from the Masque era it ran a tad slow, so I sped it up a little. The first song started with a very long and irregular fade in, which I was able to remove completely. Some EQ-ing was done to get a crisper sound. Some of the quieter parts suffered from some low frequency rumble (the first half of "Lonely Wind" for instance), which was removed. Kerry's guitar solo suffered from some gradual drops in volume, which I repaired using fading amplification. The only place the secondary source (my silver CD: "Kansas - A Tour Digest 1976") was used, is during the first 33 seconds of "Mysteries And Mayhem", which is missing from the main source due to a reel flip. I left out the opening announcement because it basically states the same as the closing announcement: the date it was recorded. Enjoy! -kerrylives (2011-04-30) |
