At least this time there was another 2 tapers, one with a deck much like the one I tried to use for this show (with a little better result in Maine 6 days later). This was a very good show, the crowd was into it and the performance was tight. Tony Levin is from Mass. and always gets a warm reception here. I've heard about 6 of the ABWH shows, a couple were dime DL's. This is my favorite performance. the recording is nothing "hi-fi" but pretty listenable, not bad for a pavillion audience recording (I hate going to pavillion shows, this was a rare exception I made not once but twice for this tour.) Unfortunately I had lost the services of a 2nd D-6 deck before this tour, which I was familiar with and had good results with at a few other shows. no "special" songs in this set, but all my favorite songs from then- current album are in here and there wasn't a weak number in the whole show. Woods are great. ABWH is great. whether Great Woods/Tweeter Center/Comcast Center is great is up to you to decide. selling this recording is not great. so Do not sell this recording. Trade freely and losslessly. This recording could be a candidate for an EQ remastering if someone knows how and wants to do it, but I've posted it without any EQ/noise reduction or processing other than to reduce some loud claps, balance the levels and apply a fadeout for both encores, and a fadein (of applause) for Starship since I put it at the end of disc 1. Unlike my Maine master aud which is missing some parts of the show, this is the whole great show from Great Woods. As so often seems to be, in a sea of Yes recordings that includes alot from this tour, I haven't seen this one posted at all. I was hoping someone had a nice DAT of it, but this is the best recording I've heard of this show. It's not the best sound quality recording I've heard from this tour but far from the worst. I have only heard a few good ones (Seattle 90 and one other, I forget which, both from dime DL, both are good ones.) |
