| J-Card Comment | Info File: The Mentors 7th Street Entry Minneapolis, MN October 15, 1992 8 or 9/10 Lineup: El Duce- Drums & Vocals Sickie Wifebeater- Guitar Dr. Heathen Scum- Bass Insect On Acid- Backing Vocals The first time I saw the Mentors was in 1991 at the same venue- the 7th Street Entry- Which is a side room to the legendary 1st Avenue. The first time, Sickie was out of his mind on something and ended the show abruptly when El Duce called him out on it- you may have seen the video- yes, that was me that videotaped it. The last time I saw them was in 1994 at, again, the same venue, and that time El was the one that was drunk beyond repair and Dr. Heathen had the flu but played anyway. This 1992 show was my 2nd time seeing them, and this show displayed the Mentors at their best. All 3 (or 4 if you count Insect) were only minimally buzzed and played well. I did tape this show, however I convinced a friend of mine to hold the recorder, seeing as I spent my whole time videotaping the first show, I couldn't really enjoy it, but this time I wanted to enjoy it and just be a part of the crowd. You can hear me yelling "EL DUCE!!!" from the other side of the room. It was well worth it. Great show, great sound, great recording.
