| Note | I was here. Recording starts about 20 seconds into My Best Theory. Shot from the crowd, center stage, with the taper mostly staying tight on Jim. This is crisp video (B+) and the sound is excellent (solid B); unfortunately, a sea of raised cell phones and the heads of tall people block the view for almost the entire performance and the filmer doesn't do much to adjust to this. As a result, listening to this show is a lot more enjoyable than watching it. The version of Goodbye Sky Harbor here is beyond amazing, but the taper stupidly cuts it off when the song drops off into the vocal loops (to the best of my recollection this went on for a few more minutes, and it was awesome) then resumes recording right when the encore starts. There's also a cut after The Middle that chops off the first couple seconds of Sweetness, and then the recording abruptly ends right when that song is winding down. An extremely flawed capture, but it's a rad show and I'm definitely always glad to have a document of a gig I was at in my collection. |
