For those in attendance July 27th, 2007 at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro NC a special Hot Tuna event took place. For one night and one night only, Hot Tuna played as an electric trio. It has been over a decade since a Hot Tuna Electric Trio has performed. Due to a prior commitment mandolinist Barry Mitterhoff was unable to perform this date with Hot Tuna. Making the evening equally unique was friends Oteil & the Peacemakers sharing the stage and for 5 tunes the Trio became the Hot Tuna Septet. Featuring on guitars Jorma Kaukonen and Mark Kimbrell, on bass Jack Casady and Oteil Burbridge, drummers Erik Diaz and Chris Fryar, and keyboardist Matt Solcum. This night was definitely a rare one indeed. |
