A few weeks ago the Lakeland FL show of 2-15-81 was posted to ABMS under the title "This Way To Disney". I have some boots called "Which Way To Disney Vol. I and Vol. II on the Mystic label. Vol II is the same 2-15-81 recording as was previously posted. Vol. I is actually the second Lakeland show, in slightly cleaner sound quality overall. The liner notes quote an article in Backstreets #60 about the two shows which states that Bruce was suffering from a fever and laryngitis the first night. The taper writes about the second show... " And feeling better Bruce certainly is, as my tape of that night in February testifies.... After the previous night, Bruce made up with a performance that I feel belongs in the record books of tour '81" Worth mentioning (for me), the 2-16-81 performance was my third Bruce show and the only one of The River tour. Although a rabid fan, I would not see the E. St. Band live again until the Reunion tour some 19 years later. So, this one is forever in my memory! It's a great show. I remember hearing the first notes of Jackson Cage and realizing that this was, for me, a unique, amazing and unforgetable night! Disk 1: |
