THE ROLLING STONES - HOT AUGUST NIGHT Vinyl Gang Product 146 LINEAGE: Original VGP CDs -> WAV (EAC v. 0.95 beta 4 - secure, Offset "actual") -> FLAC (flacfrontend, level 6) -> You DATE/VENUE: Knebworth Open Air Festival, Knebworth Park, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England August 21th 1976 QUALITY: Excellent Stereo Soundboard / Very Good Mono Soundboard / Good - Very Good Audience (combination of sources) COMMENTS: The best silver CD release of this concert. The vinyl sounds a little bit better though - but that one doesn't feature the whole gig. Very special setlist. They should have spent more time rehearsing though, as some songs here are such trainwrecks. Both Jagger and Richards are also completely out of it; at times, anyway. My favourites here are "Wild Horses", "Little Red Rooster", "Route 66" and "Around And Around". Those ones are excellent. The biggest trainwreck is "Let's Spend The Night Together", for sure "Midnight Rambler" drags - one of their worst versions of that one, if you ask me. Easily the most interesting show of 1976. |
