Note | An excellent release from the cdr label Beelzebub. It's a tough , kick ass concert .... a bit raw at times, with a somewhat wild and edgy feel to it. There are a couple blunders here and there, Plant sings the last verse of Heartbreaker just before the key change to the guitar solo but he recovers okay and Jimmy has a rather large clam early in SIBLY but proceeds to play one of the most impassioned versions from the tour. Plant's voice is just amazing , and the band's interaction is so spontaneous and fresh sounding. The crowd were apparently a little rowdy, (good ol' Beantown) and the tension was apparent. Plant makes several comments during the show to try to cool off the crowd and security. The crowd around the taper also have a case of the "clap" which gets annoying at times....especially on What Is....and Moby D. The sound quality of this source is quite good, better to my ears than Come Back to Boston which may come from a different source(?). Beelzebub has a tendency to over EQ their releases sometimes to the point of distortion but they didn't overdo it this time. The remastered tape sounds clear and strong, very dynamic and full from top to bottom. |
