Note | This is the first night out of two at the Shrine for the Yardbirds. The recording itself is pretty good, better than most from this era. Jimmy would have been playing his Telecaster at this point and you can deffinently hear some shades of early Zeppelin in his playing. Note the use of the bow during I'm A Man and parts of Smokestack Lighting that are note for note HMMT. Also an interesting almost complete covers of the Velvet Underground's I'm Waiting for the Man as well as Donovan's Hey gyp (dig the slowness). |
