Note | Pro-recorded show for MTV (?!) that has aged extremely well. There are a couple of tracking glitches during the last two songs, and the video is a bit dark at times, but overall the quality here is stunning considering the age of the footage and its original format (A-). Sound is uniformly excellent and this could have easily been officially released. The show itself is phenomenal, and those looking for a document of how awesome BOC was in their prime won't find much better than this. Absolutely awesome disc. Also features the band's appearance on the "Tomorrow Show" in October of 1981 as filler. The source for that segment hasn't aged as well (more like B+/B+), but it's still a really cool artifact. The band performs "Burnin' For You" and "Joan Crawford," and Charles Grodin's stiff and generally oblivious interview with them in between the two songs is priceless ("do you guys consider yourselves part of the punk rock movement?"). Any fan will get tons of enjoyment out of this DVD. I know I did. |
