It was a beguiling stretch of the tour to say the least, no more so than this show which features some particularly inspired moments, especially the rare cover of Peggy Lee's "Fever" into the Rolling Stones' "Paint in Black," right into Lou Reed's "Sweet Jane" with all kinds of additional lyrics/ranting from J.M. Stipe. Remember, too, that Wire's "Strange" and Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" were new to us at this time as well. The recording has a few glitches (as noted above) and is a notch below the others from the NW but still very good and far better than most R.E.M. audies from the era.
